No amount of articles, documentaries or works of fiction can capture what it is like to uproot everything you have, leave behind everything you’ve ever know and embark on a hazardous journey to a land unknown. The Global Human Project would like to invite everyone to at least get a glimpse by participating in “Walk a Mile in My Shoes: A Migration Simulation.” At the beginning of this three-hour simulation, participants are assigned a small family, must attempt to enter a new country and go through the process of entering a United Nations refugee camp (where not everyone speaks your language). It’s a chance to expand your empathy and perspective about this often divisive issue.
