‘Union Made’ by Nick Roberts

Photographer Nick Roberts can obviously handle heights and heat. He spent three years shooting the ironworkers as they constructed the Abraham Lincoln Bridge, which opened December 2015, part of the ongoing Louisville-Southern Indiana Ohio River Bridges Project. The exhibition “Union Made” was gleaned from the over 300,000 photos he took during his time suspended above the river. The images, printed in dye sublimation and mounted on chromaluxe aluminum, have a slight three-dimensional quality.
