‘Ultimate Things: New Paintings By Madison Cawein’

Get close. Closer. Painter Madison Cawein wants you to experience nature through its many minuscule details. He’s done the dirty work and now gives us the chance to marvel at what he has found. “The subject matter is somewhat new, but the content is only getting clearer, at least to me,” he said. “My life as a painter has been and continues to be a journey to see.” The opening reception is Saturday, Sept. 28 from 3 to 5 p.m., with the artist talk at 4 p.m. —Jo Anne Triplett
