‘Two Friends:
Dave Caudill and Bob Lockhart’

“Poets and painters need as many friends as they can get,” says writer David Masello. Artists Dave Caudill and Bob Lockhart have heeded that advice in a friendship that has existed since Caudill was Lockhart’s student. Now they are showing together in “Two Friends.” Caudill, best known for his large outdoor abstractions, is exhibiting small tabletop pieces. “I have fallen in love with color again after many years of working in bright stainless steel,” he says. Friends supplied the faces Lockhart was looking for. “Several years ago, I decided to ask … if I could draw their portraits. Most, if not all, are revealing revelations that provide unique insights into the character of each subject.” Which makes you really look at his drawings of the famous.
