‘Twenty Twenty Show’ By LAFTA

Creativity expanded during COVID-19 due to the stay-at-home orders. The members of  LAFTA (Louisville Area Fiber and Textile Artists) used the isolation to good measure. Its current exhibition features art inspired by the pandemic year that was 2020. The subject matter could reflect on the disease, feature many elements or simply have been made during that year. LAFTA member Karen Buckingham’s quilt is about connection. “Much to my surprise during those isolated times, I made a new friend. She had some beautiful textiles from her travels to Africa and she gave some to me to use in my work. ‘Circles of Friends’ includes one of those exquisite fabric pieces.”
