On the edge of doom metal and fond of thunderous, sludgy riffs, Torche creates a pretty brutal wall of sound, but they also carry punk influences and melodic tendencies, something that has given them a considerable amount of range over their decade-long span of recordings. Loaded with distortion, hooks, a bit of psychedelia and collected vocals, Torche casts out waves of intensely-layered noise that’s just the right amount of catchy. A nice fit and a quick walk for the people who still have something left in the tank after a day at Forecastle, this is a great opportunity, especially since this is the smallest venue you will probably ever have the chance to see them in. Anwar Sadat and Jaye Jayle open.
