Toni Morrison, Nobel Prize-winning writer and educator, is showcased in “The Pieces I Am,” a film reflecting on how she has tackled the issues of race, history and education through her work. The Speed describes it as “an artful and intimate meditation” on her life and works. The Speed Cinema will show the film seven times through July 31. Post-film discussions will be led by professor of Gender and Sexuality studies Dr. Kaila Story (July 26), LEO columnist and Spalding University Creative Writing Director Minda “Honey” Reves (July 28) and UofL English Professor Dr. David Anderson (July 31). —LEO
