Quappi Projects is starting off its second year of existence in the dirt. “All Things That Are, Are Light and Soot” by Vanessa Albury examines the passage of time by way of the accumulation of dust, dirt and ivy on and in an industrial building in Portland. Her large photographs remind me of documentaries featuring abandoned buildings slowly being taken over by plants, bugs and cats. It’s just another way of looking at history. The opening reception is Friday, Sept. 21 from 5 to 9 p.m.
