It always feels like such a gamble — especially if you’re on a budget — to go see a group removed from their prime. Sometimes it’s still gold (Prince), sometimes it sounds like they’ve spent the last decade swallowing broken glass (Dylan, although for the record, I still always go see him live for multiple other reasons) and sometimes it’s somewhere in the middle, which is seemingly where The Who fit in, so it’s simply an equation of personal significance, disposable income and that this is their “last big tour.” People spend too much time trading takes about whether bands like The Who are worth the price of admission. It’s different for everyone. (This show was scheduled for Saturday, May 9, but was postponed earlier this week. New Date TBA).
