Warning – bragging alert! I attended the taping of the hugely popular PBS show “Antiques Roadshow” when it was in Louisville in 2007. It was as exciting, crazy and informative (but loud) as you think it is when watching the TV show. The Brennan House is holding a scaled-down version of “Antiques Roadshow” with the same intent, to give people the chance to meet local experts to discuss their collectibles. Experts in paintings, ceramics, object art, silver, jewelry and clocks/watches will be in attendance. The Victorian mansion houses over 7,000 objects collected from 1868-1969 when the Brennan family owned it, including a signed Louis C. Tiffany lamp, and is open for tours. It’s also the site of the historic preservation organization Preservation Louisville.
