Suzanne Sidebottom

Suzanne Sidebottom is a bamboozler, or a con artist, maybe even a wizard. Although a perfectly nice woman, she creates art that lies to your face. It’s just best knowing this going in. Keep telling yourself it is not what it seems, as in “That’s not a camera” or “So the pencil isn’t real either?” Only her website, itsclay.com, lets you in on the secret. A former teacher at duPont Manual visual art magnet, Sidebottom now makes art full-time. Her trompe l’oeil ceramic pieces certainly do “fool the eye.” This one-night-only exhibition of her newest work will either delight the senses or make you question your sanity. Yep, I couldn’t be more pleased.
