Expressionist painter Joshua Jenkins has based his latest body of work on his appreciation of June, July and August. The slow hot days, the hum of insects, nature’s bounty — all are having their “day in the sun” in the exhibition “Summertime.” “Art to me is the soul’s communication — a response to experience and life,” said Jenkins. “This theory is what innately drives me to create, because I feel as though I have to, for my own well-being.”
