No summer vacation plans? As the Louisville Free Public Library notes, “reading takes you everywhere.” So, take the kids on the best trip of their lives by getting them involved with the summer reading program. They’ll devour books and get prizes in return, including passes to Squire Boone Caverns, Louisville City FC and more. It all starts with a day of activities from more than 20 Louisville arts and culture groups, including the Speed Art Museum, Historic Locust Grove and Kentucky Shakespeare. You’ll also get a chance to pick up a free Cultural Pass, another valuable passport to summer adventures without leaving Lou. With it, your kids will get free admission to a bevy of local cultural institutions. Last year, the list included the Louisville Zoo, the Kentucky Science Center and much more.
