The Speed Art Museum’s bimonthly Speed Reading Book Club continues, even if the museum is closed to crowds and the book club can’t club together. Like other book clubs, participants read a book and discuss. However, what sets the Speed Reading Book Club apart is: This one comes with an art gallery tour. The book this time is “The Icarus Girl” by Helen Oyeyemi, and the meeting will include a virtual tour of the Speed’s Africa collection. Search for the event on Facebook, and a link to join will be posted the day before the event, Friday, May 29. Hopefully, by the next meeting in late July, which will be on “The Philosophy of Andy Warhol (From A to B and Back Again)” by Andy Warhol, we’ll be able to safely gather again in the museum.
