Two members of the band Sorry Mom, Olivia Miller and Marissa Booker, have organized a weekend “devoted to empowering women, girls and transfolk in the South and to furthering the struggle for social justice.” The agenda is filled with speakers (like Attica Scott and Carrie Neumayer!), skill-sharing workshops, zine swaps and a concert with Julie of the Wolves, Hailey Wojcik and more Sunday 5-8 p.m. Booker described this weekend’s event as “a feminist Idea Festival mixed with DIY/hands-on workshops.” SCG is all about tactics for personal/political change, feminism in this new age, progressive politics and feminism as it relates to our specific, geographic location — the South! Not to exclude anyone, a $5 donation will get you weekend access, but $50 is recommended.
