For you politically active partiers out there, The Kentuckians For The Commonwealth are throwing a block party just for you! The 2nd annual Smoketown GetDown for Democracy, at the corner of Shelby and Lampton Streets, is a free block party complete with live entertainment (DJ Yared Sound, 10th Street Blues Band, River City Drum Corp, Roots & Wings, The Afrophysicists and Safiyyah Dance Company and Fierce Entertainment), local food (Lexie Lu’s, Louisville Cream and POLLO) and beer from West Sixth Brewing. There will also be booths where you can register to vote, check out some local activist organizations or snap a selfie in front of the live art wall. Do it for democracy, dammit!
