While “Sisters of the Moon: Art & the Feminine Dimension” may sound like a Dionysus maenad ritual, it’s not. But there are common themes, such as females expressing their creativity through mysticism, mythology and spirituality. “Rooted in the ancient belief that women more fully embody the generative forces of nature, possessing a greater connectedness to the surrounding environment,” said curator Joey Yates, “this exhibition provides a unique setting for art exploring the poetics of nature and the feminine divine.” Local favorite Kathleen Lolley is included in the show.
