‘Shift Series’ by Ivan Schieferdecker

Ivan Schieferdecker’s latest series of paintings were inspired by Japanese Zen gardens — and his 83rd birthday. The 40 paintings in the “Shift Series” reflect his interest “in one specific thing and that was the beautiful pattern that is raked into the fine gravel that generates the floor, which in essence, is a reference to water. In this series, I see the compositions as aerial views of these gardens.” There’s no extra charge for deep breaths and contemplative thoughts.
