Finally, some Shakespeare for those who still cringe at the very name from the trauma suffered in high school English class. The self-proclaimed “nerdiest-coolest book club/geek session” is taking on Macbeth in the movies! The first two adaptations will be available for free and streaming online: “the Globe production in London and Kurosawa’s samurai masterpiece, ‘Throne of Blood.’” The second week will be up to you to choose your own, and while organizers promise there are many free versions available, you are also welcome to rent or buy one. Resident Kentucky Shakespeare dramaturge Greg Maupin will lead group discussions and examinations of the original script, and how the movies compare. Maupin will also assist in the reading portion, and there will not be a quiz or grading of any kind, so no need to fret.
