SewIN Quilt & Fiber Biennial

ArtSeed has organized the first SewIN Quilt & Fiber Biennial in New Albany. The textile and fiber art by regional artists is displayed at 18 locations citywide. Prominent fiber artists showing include Arturo Sandoval, Denise Furnish and Penny Sisto. New Albany’s Second Saturday Trolley Hops are on Dec. 8 and Jan. 12 from 1 to 4 p.m. In addition to the exhibitions, there will be lectures and workshops during its run. Brochures with walking maps are available at ArtSeed and all host locations. In conjunction with the Biennial, TheatreWorks of SoIN is showing “Quilters: A Musical” through Nov. 18.

Jo Anne Triplett is the contributing visual arts editor at LEO Weekly. She’s a past member of the Mayor’s Advisory Committee on Public Art, was the content advisor on the Glassworks Building video, and has written for Louisville Magazine, Kentucky Homes and Gardens and the national publication Glass Craftsman. Jo Anne came to Louisville from Washington, D.C. where she worked as a researcher and writer for the Smithsonian American Art Museum.
