Watch and listen as the Young Poets of Louisville compete against three other youth poetry slam teams from Dayton, Cincinnati and Indianapolis in this regional competition. There will also be a featured performance by poet phenom Alysia Harris. Young Poets of Louisville, which works to “develop socially engaged and artistic leaders with literary, public speaking and performance skills,” will be competing for a $200 prize and bragging rights. It will also help prepare them for the Brave New Voices International Youth competition, where they will face off against 60 youth poetry slam teams.
