Set in the 16th century, Giuseppe Verdi’s “Rigoletto” highlights the Duke of Mantua (John Irvin), a bully and seducer, who is aided by his jester Rigoletto (Anthony Clark Evans) in his conquests. In true opera fashion, there is plenty of drama, revenge and superstition. “Rigoletto” is Evans’ Kentucky Opera debut along with Conductor Roberto Kalb and Director Kathleen Belcher. Sung in Italian with projected English supertitles.
