Inspired by Mayor Greg Fischer’s pledge to end veteran homelessness in Louisville, a new coalition called Rally Point: Kentuckiana has been formed. It is dedicated to resolving the three biggest challenges facing veterans: unemployment, homelessness and health needs (mental and physical). To raise money to combat these issues, The Kentucky Center is hosting a fundraising night with motivational speakers, including Fischer and others. Ticket proceeds from the event go to the three veterans’ charities: Active Heroes, Where Opportunity Knox and Coalition for the Homeless. A free veterans resource fair kicks off the event at 10 a.m., with a reception and silent auction at 6:30, and speakers at 7:30.
