“Queer individuals are routinely trivialized, silenced and killed,” said a representative of Gallery K, a coffee-house and art gallery. Even in the art world, the work of LGBTQ artists can be viewed as niche, or unprofitable, by many galleries and museums. So Gallery K is doing its part to bring about equality by hosting a night of “powerful queer voices” in the community and allowing artists of all mediums to present their work in this juried art show.
