Muses can come from anywhere. For the new works in this exhibition, Jenny Shircliff’s inspirations were songs about locations — for example, “Big Yellow Taxi” by Joni Mitchell became Shircliff’s “Paradise.” Her choice of songs had her creating paintings and drawings relating to cities such as Boston, Atlanta, and Kansas City. “My process included listening to the songs and then responding to the layers of melody, rhythm, chords and lyrics,” she explained. Also showing is guest artist Anne Huntington. The gallery talk is on Saturday, Nov. 11, at 2:30 p.m.
