With their Tiki drinks, surfer movies and So-Cal art motif, El Camino blisses out the summer vibe all year round. Sunday nights during Kentucky summer this surf punk shack takes it to 10 with everything you need to ward off what LEO’s Barkeep calls “the Sunday Scaries” (if you have anyplace you have to be on Monday … you know). Starting at 7 p.m., there’s a pig on the spit and drink specials ($2 beers and shots/$5 cocktails). Around dusk, they light the candles, serve the pork on a full, free buffet and cue the movie (“Dazed and Confused” and “Spinal Tap” most recently). I can think of no better way to slip out of the weekend and into … whatever.
