‘An Ohio River Odyssey’

What did you do this summer besides sweat? Louisville photographers John Nation and Joe Wolek spent their June participating in the inaugural Paddle of the Ohio River Recreational Trail. The 274-mile trip from Portsmouth, Ohio to Louisville took nine days. In the evenings, they camped in the small towns dotting the banks. As photographers are wont to do, they documented their water-and-land journey completely. —Jo Anne Triplett
