New York-based curator, writer and educator Dan Cameron is coming to Louisville for a lecture titled “Notes on Usefulness.” “Essentially he will talk about the role his exhibitions have played in different cities, as many of the biennials he has curated have been immersive, citywide experiences incorporating the work of dozens of artists, appearing in both established art institutions and unexpected public spaces,” said Miranda Lash, curator of Contemporary Art at the Speed Art Museum. Cameron is the 2018 Critic-In-Residence at the Great Meadows Foundation and artistic director of Open Spaces 2018: A Kansas City Arts Experience. The event is free and walk-ins are welcome. Tickets can be reserved through the museum website, as the event may reach full capacity.
