The Butchertown pub Louis’s “The Ton” is showcasing new work by Joshua Jenkins. His colorful abstract paintings are “bridging the gap between street art and fine art,” he says. This exhibition includes his usual large size paintings as well as some of his smaller pieces and prints. “Not all inspiration comes from my life,” he states. “I am also inspired by observing people around me. Furthermore, I find beauty in the raw textures that plagues old cities and in the primitive instincts used to enhance the decay … that graffiti artists seem to do so well.” The opening is Friday, Feb. 5 at 6-9 p.m.
