National Trails Day At Bernheim

There seems to be a national day for everything, but given the proliferation of national days — Toothache Day (Feb. 9) and National Talk Like Shakespeare Day (April 23) — we’ll gladly accept National Trails Day — no eye-rolls included. Bernheim is celebrating the “holiday” with two hiking opportunities. If you like to bring your dog with ya on your journeys through the trees, come at 10 a.m. for Trails & Tails, a group hike ending with refreshing treats for both pups and humans from Steel City Pops and Dog Hill Pawps, as well as booths from Rudy Green’s Doggy Cuisine and PetSuites of America. If you’re a more serious hiker, join Bernheim volunteer naturalists on a nine-mile hike on the 14-mile Millennium Trail. Bring proper shoes, lunch, water and maybe even a hiking stick. There will be stops for rest and talks.
