The Falls of the Ohio is home to one of the largest exposed Devonian fossil beds in the world, so it’s an ideal location to celebrate National Fossil Day. The state park is clearly cognizant of this, as they have a packed schedule. Come for a guided dig of the park’s collecting piles, a “history of teeth” talk, and arts & crafts, as well as three special hikes — a hunt for the park’s biggest fossils, an exploration of Fisherman’s Point and a one-hour hike with a paleontologist.
