Artists and married couple Britany Baker and Frankie Steele have collaborated on “Moments of Clarity” to focus on the passing of time. Their aim is to capture images that pass faster than the mind can fully acknowledge. Baker’s work features her unique water and charcoal resist drawings that are abstract and alive with movement, natural forms and textures. “The use of water in my practice with charcoal provides a flattened view of time by showing how things are created and then grow,” said Baker, art director at LEO’s parent company, Red Pin Media. Steele will display intense, slow-motion videos, using time as his medium, as much as video. “I want to capture real people, each in their natural habitat, being present, and then slow it down,” said Steele. Come Friday, Sept. 7 from 6 to 9 p.m. for an opening reception. To view the show afterward, call 694-0637 for an appointment.
