Two of the world’s best-known resisters are honored in “The Measure of Men: From Trials to Triumph.” As elegant and effective as their words were, it turns out Muhammad Ali and Nelson Mandela also used art to communicate. The exhibition features lithograph prints created by Mandela after he was released from prison as well as drawings and serigraphs that Ali made in the late 1970s. “We’re excited to be able to share this amazing collection for the first time right here in our community,” said Cathy Shannon, E&S Gallery’s marketing director. “These series have been exhibited in fine art galleries and museums across Europe, Africa and the U.S. and this will be the first time the images have been shown in Kentucky.” E&S Gallery will host the opening reception from 4-8 p.m. during the Feb. 3 Republic Bank First Friday Hop.
