Uniting the East and West ends of our city has been a point of discussion for decades. Mayor Greg Fischer is partnering with Interface Studio Architects, Shine Contracting, Core Design, Element Design and others on an arts, cityscape project called The Louisville Knot, at Ninth and Main streets, which might — or might not — break the Ninth Street barrier. It proposes a “giant piece of street furniture … that provides micro infrastructure for parties, play, and commerce, encouraging visitors to cross the divide.” We are skeptical, but join Hizzoner for the presentation and see for yourself.
