There’s certainly been road bumps in the world of Machine Head — trying to cash in on nu-metal, bad timing with the single “Crashing Around You” directly after 9/11 (which lead to it being pulled from a lot of media outlets, dramatically affecting sales — but, both before and after, there’s certainly been a lot of highs. With the last two records, “Unto The Locus” and “Bloodstone & Diamonds,” Machine Head has been able to get back on track, creating the sort of interesting groove/thrash metal that they are capable of, replacing what they think people want to hear with their own ideas and avenues.
