The Louisville Music Awards are slightly different this year. Where previous iterations broke down the individual awards by genre or “Best Album,” this year’s five categories are “Advocate,” “Collaboration,” “Youth,” “Legacy” and “Emerging Artist.” The idea seems to be to honor people for community impact instead of by judging albums. A Louisville Public Media All-Star Band will perform, which includes Jecorey “1200” Arthur and Meg Samples, with special guests such as Otis Junior, Tyrone Cotton, Ben Sollee and Shadwick Wilde.
