The Little Loomhouse Lecture Series:
‘A Peculiar Composition,’ Michael L. Jones

Longtime LEO contributor Michael L. Jones headlines The Little Loomhouse’s second installment of their 2018 lecture series, “A Peculiar Composition.” Jones’ lecture will lead guests through the history of the song, “Happy Birthday to You,” including discussion of its African-American roots. Legend has it that the composers of the song, sisters Patty and Mildred Hill, first sang the song at The Little Loomhouse. This is a unique opportunity to learn more about the story behind the iconic tune, what the 1998 Guinness Book of World Records called, “the most recognized song in the English language.”
