Lecture by NASA’s ‘Mr. Eclipse’

In 2017, The Great American Total Solar Eclipse will be visible from the U.S. (and most important, Louisville!) for the first time since 1979. Which is why retired NASA astrophysicist Fred Espenak, aka “Mr. Eclipse,” will be giving a talk about it at the University of Louisville this week. Over the past 45 years, Espenak has witnessed 26 total eclipses of the Sun, and even has an asteroid named after him, so it’s fair to say he is an expert on the subject. It’s strongly suggested that you RSVP for this event so that UofL can better plan for seating and refreshments.
