This year, February has an extra day, and these Louisville hangouts thought: what better way to use it than to party?
Leap Year Silent Disco (Feb. 28)
Galaxie | 732 E. Market St. | Search Facebook | $10 in advance, $15 day-of
11 p.m.-3 a.m.
Welcome leap day with a late night dance party. Organizers say that three of Louisville’s top DJs, including Sam Sneed, will curate the channels blasting through your provided silent disco headphones.
Lucky Leap Year Art Show (Feb. 29)
Block Party Handmade Boutique | 560 S. Fourth St. Search Facebook | No cover | 2-6 p.m.
If you’re feeling lucky, you might just score some cool art at this show, featuring California-based artists Gemma Correll (known for her cutesy illustrations on the interwebs) and Show Pigeon (ditto, except she does tattoos too). Local artists Amy Wiedl, Billy Lilly Universe and more will be there, too. And, because art goes down well with sweets, drinks and fun things, there will be luck-themed refreshments for snacking on (including a Lucky Charms cheesecake ball), Falls City beer and tarot card readings.
Leap Year Party (Feb. 29)
Asia Institute Crane House | 1244 S. Third St. | Search Facebook | $40
Close out leap day with treats (Asian food, snacks and sake tasting) and entertainment (karaoke by NoraeBar, anime and K-pop by the Cardinal K-pop Dance Team). —LEO
