‘Lazy Susan’ By Joyce Garner

“I paint as I live but not what I live.” This quote by painter Joyce Garner is one of the best descriptions of artistic license I’ve read. Her latest works feature the varieties of life, sometimes all at once (the canvases are quite large). “These paintings are not supposed to be just my story but stories I see all around me,” she said. In other words, larger-than-life lives, pun intended. A reception will be held during the April 5 Republic Bank First Friday Hop from 6 to 9 p.m.
