The Kentucky Castle Renaissance Faire

What better place for a Renaissance fair than a legit castle? Sure, Kentucky’s version of a European palace was created in 1969, not the 1100s, but when your country was founded in the 18th century, you take what you can get. Don your most extra medieval attire and be prepared to partake in swordplay, archery, a knighting ceremony, shopping and much feasting and carousing. Gaze in wonder upon jousters, storytellers, a wizard and a Welsh corgi show (we don’t know what they do, but we bet it’s cute). Separate tickets are available if you’d like to attend a special luncheon or an eveningtide royal feast and masquerade ball in the Grand Ballroom. —Danielle Grady
