People have had that “meh” feeling, that there’s-nothing-new-under-the-sun feeling since Ecclesiastes. And, in the share-retweet-copy-and-paste world we live in, Michael Stipe comes off like a prophet: “Run a carbon-black test on my jaw, and you will find, it’s all been said before.” However, it’s not a monolithic view, and, thankfully, there are plenty of visionaries who think differently. If you’re idealistic enough to still be looking for something new under the sun, something to stimulate your intellect and curiosity, IdeaFestival is where you need to be. The agenda is packed with musicians, scientists, artists, engineers, inventors and iconoclasts of all ilk … all looking to disrupt the status quo.
