“I Am Potential”

My father and I share a bond over UofL football. Even though I am not an expert on the game like my father, we cherish the time we get to spend together cheering on our favorite team. And I remember the first time we saw Patrick Henry Hughes, blind and wheelchair bound, playing a trumpet in the UofL marching band as his father assisted him. Game after game, even in the pouring rain, they were there, just like my father and me. Hughes and his father’s story hits a chord with me, and it’s quite possibly one of the most touching stories I’ve ever heard. So when the film adaptation of Hughes story titled “I Am Potential,” comes to The Louisville Palace, I will undoubtedly be there with my father, and I hope you will too.
