‘Great Russian Nutcracker’ By The Moscow Ballet

Russia has the reputation for training some of the best ballet dancers in the world (an excellent example is Mikhail Baryshnikov). Performances are usually technically difficult and creatively beautiful. So, to have the Moscow Ballet dance the popular “Nutcracker” in Louisville is a treat. This revamped production puts a Russian spin on the story with Russian nesting dolls and larger-than-life puppets. —Jo Anne Triplett
