For the longest time, Kentucky had only one gallery specializing solely in fine art photography, the Paul Paletti Gallery. That number has now doubled with the First Light Gallery, aka FLI Gallery. Andrew McCawley, owner of First Light Image, opened the gallery because “we believe in the printed image as the foremost way to view photography, and wish to engage and educate our community about its many involved processes.” The gallery’s first featured exhibition is “Man on Earth” by Rupert Vandervell of London, England, whose series imagines the photographer as the last man on the planet.
