Galentine’s Day

Following in the grand tradition of Festivus from “Seinfeld,” Galentine’s Day is the holiday created by the fictional character Leslie Knope from the television show “Parks and Recreation.” Celebrating the bond between women, it is a day in which women honor their best lady friend with arts and crafts and music. In celebration of this joyous bond, Block Party Homemade Boutique is holding an event featuring all the necessities needed to show your bestie how much she means to you. There will be female bands, feminist-themed artwork and craft stations for creating that perfect Galentine’s Day card. And of course there will be waffles. Because it is not Galentine’s Day without waffles.

Galentine’s Day

Chasson Higdon is a writer, artist and filmmaker. At an early age, when other boys were learning about sports or cars, Chasson had his head buried in art history books or creating paintings and drawings. This trend has continued on into adulthood, where he has earned his BA in Fine Arts from Indiana University, received multiple awards for his creative endeavors and is still currently clueless about sports or cars.
