Galentine’s Day, like all holidays I guess, is totally made up. What makes it different is when it was created (2010 — just 10 years ago!) and how (it’s the brainchild of the fictional character Leslie Knope on the TV show “Parks and Recreation”). Galentine’s Day is about “ladies celebrating ladies” — a time to recognize loving, female friendships in a month typically devoted to heteronormative romance. So, bring your girlfriends and enjoy a brunch buffet, drink specials and a comedy show from local funnywomen Mandee McKelvey and Melissa Doran. This women-only event is held in Doc’s Gallery, Doc Crow’s event space, which you enter through a stairway to the left of Bearno’s.
