‘Functional Design 2015’

Meet the brand new organization: the Louisville Area Furniture Society (LAFS). As a way to get locals to know about them, LAFS is presenting “Functional Design 2015,” a show of handcrafted furniture. Co-founders are Craig Bayens and Peyton Hoge. “Many people don’t consider furniture when they’re thinking about buying local,” says Bayens. “We bring something unique to the community, one-of-a-kind pieces that design-savvy customers are seeking.” Hoge adds, “With so many different styles represented, there will be something for every taste.” Other artists in the show are Billie Bradford, Ryan Goff, David Metcalf, Ben Pegram and Carter Scott. The opening reception is on Friday, Oct. 9 at 7:30 p.m. at Fresh Start Growers’ Supply. It’s free and open to the public.
