The Fri-Sci Summer Movie Series is more than just spaceships and dystopian societies, although those fan favorites do make appearances. Every film in the series “asks more questions than it answers — ‘what if?’, ‘can you imagine?’ and ‘what would you do?’” The first screening in this series is “Koyaanisqatsi,” a documentary that “reveals how humanity has grown apart from nature.” The film is described as a “tone poem” that “contains neither dialogue nor a vocalized narration: its mood and feel is set by the artful juxtaposition of images and music.”
