The raw, plucky and clever work of Tad DeSanto is true visionary art. His folk art-tinged perceptions are always innovative and smile-inducing. Though always interested in art, DeSanto did not seriously produce art until after his retirement. His work on wood, Masonite and other found material has been a success at many local art fairs and galleries. “Making something from nothing is magical. I want my work to make people smile, laugh and think,” said DeSanto. Meet the always-friendly DeSanto at the opening reception on Friday, Sept. 2, from 6-10 p.m.
